Like “indie rock,” “indie” or “alternative comedy” are rather amorphous terms that encapsulate a broad range of styles. Alternative comedy is the more dated of the two, beginning with comedians like Janeane Garofalo and now synonymous with comics like Patton Oswalt.
From Nick Zaino: Starting today, I’m declaring this “Lucas Lewis Week” on the Boston Comedy Blog. Why? Because Lewis is recording a set for the first time Friday at The Gas, he’s going to be leaving town shortly, and he’s written this fine, multi-part piece on Boston Comedy.
